Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information The Film Network (“the Service”) collects, how we use it, and the third parties we rely on to operate. By using the Service you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

When you use The Film Network, we collect:

  • Account information — your name, login identifier, and any account-level settings you create.
  • Email address — used for authentication, transactional messages, and support.
  • Profile information — the handle, biography, role, photo, links, and other details you add to your creator profile.
  • Organization information — the name, logo, description, contacts, members, and other details you add to an organization page you create or help manage.
  • Production credit information — the films, roles, dates, collaborators, and related credit data you submit.
  • Posts and user-submitted text — updates, comments, listings, messages, and other text you publish on the Service.
  • Authentication data — identifiers returned by Google or Facebook when you sign in with those providers.
  • Usage, log, and device data — standard request logs, page views, approximate location derived from IP, browser and device characteristics, and similar diagnostic information.
  • Cookies and session data — cookies, session tokens, and similar technologies used to keep you signed in and to operate the Service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Authenticate you and keep your session active
  • Display your profile, your organization page, your production credits, your posts, and other content you create
  • Power discovery, search, follows, connections, and similar networking features
  • Send transactional and support communications you would reasonably expect
  • Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, fraud, and security incidents
  • Provide product support and respond to your questions
  • Operate invite, claim, and credit-linking flows so the right people can claim credits that have been added for them

Public Visibility

The Film Network is a networking platform, which means much of the information you add is intended to be seen by other people. Profile pages, organization pages, production credits, posts, and similar content may be visible to other members or to the public, depending on the page. Do not submit information that you would not want others to see in connection with your profile, your organization, or your work.

Third-Party Services

The Service is operated using the following third-party providers:

  • Vercel — application hosting and request handling.
  • Neon — managed PostgreSQL database where account, profile, organization, credit, and post data are stored.
  • Bunny — delivery of static assets and media used by the Service.
  • Google OAuth — sign-in with Google, where enabled.
  • Facebook OAuth — sign-in with Facebook, where enabled.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery for invites, claim links, and support correspondence, where used.

Each provider receives only the information needed to perform its function for the Service. These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers as needed to operate the Service, when required by law or legal process, when reasonably necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of The Film Network or its users, or when you have directed the information to be displayed publicly through your profile, organization page, credits, or posts.

Cookies, Authentication, and Sessions

We use cookies and session tokens to keep you signed in, to maintain authentication state across pages, and to operate core features. Disabling these technologies will prevent the Service from functioning correctly.

Your Choices

You can update most of your information by editing your profile or your organization page directly. For account access questions, corrections that you cannot make through the Service, or deletion requests, contact us at support@thefilm.network and we will work with you in good faith.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
